The
/focus
command’s goal is to provide a distraction-free environment to get work done. Here’s how:Creating a Focus Session
- Type
/focus
and select a window to start a focus session - You can also select “New window” to start a fresh focus session
- Enter the goal for the focus session. This helps anchor you throughout your session to stay focused
- you can also select from pre-defined goals for the day (more on this below)
- All outstanding windows will be minimized to automatically declutter your workspace
There are many use cases for starting a focus sesion.
Here are a few:
- jump into a meeting
- context switching from one project to the next
- quick research rabbit hole
Defining a Plan for the Day
- Type
/plan
, you’ll navigate to the Plan Goals view - In the Plan Goals view you can define the goals you want to accomplish for the day
- These will be selectable through the
/focus
command Goal option - Keyboard shortcuts for the Goals can be found here: Keyboard Shortcuts
There are no limits to the number of goals you can define for a day, but we encourage to define a reasonable and achievable set of goals.
Also, this tool is not a task manager, the purpose is to focus on the tasks you have planned for the day, no more. We want you to have the most productive day possible.
Viewing your Milestones
- Type
/milestones
, you’ll navigate to the Focus Milestones view - You’ll see all of the completed goals for a day.
